Well, this morning was a bit of a mad dash to the airport when I realized I forgot my rain coat in the dryer 20 minutes into our drive. No sweat... Hans drove once we started the drive over again, rolled us over a dead raccoon, but was sure to get us to the airport on time. Checked in with no problems and walked right onto the plane. With a wopping 1.5 hours of sleep the night before, I tried hard to get some shut eye!
We've now arrived in Cancun. We should have known what humidity we had in store for us when we saw it quickly seeping into the plane upon landing. We were hit by clouds and clouds of "steam," which the stewardess nonchalantly informed us was humidity. It was only about 77 degrees, but with 95% humidity it was HOT! By the time we left the airport, I think we both lost about 5lbs in sweat! We got ourselves to el Centro, and found ourselves a place to crash for the night. Then, we proceeded to get lost in the probably less than 1 square mile radius around our hostel. Tomorrow, we will bus it back to the airport for our 2:45pm flight to Havana, where the real fun shall begin!
